Ice Castles

The Midway Ice Castles are absolutely breathtaking. If you have the opportunity- GO! I don’t remember seeing them when I was going to school in Utah, or I feel like I totally would have gone. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to make it out there. It is right near Park City, too, so we did the ice castles for about an hour and then spent the rest of the time in Park City. A lot of  people at work were asking about the castles. Check out their website HERE!

Tickets sell out online and apparently if they’re sold out online, you can’t buy them at the ice castles, so I would purchase them early. I would book it for earlier in the day than later. Once you’re in, you can stay as long as you want, but if you go earlier there are probably going to be less people. There are mazes and slides and even concessions you can buy. We were just in awe at the beauty of the ice castles, though. We had never seen anything like it! You really start to feel like you’re actually in the movie Frozen.

What I wore- I wore my beautiful red coat from J. Crew which is perfect for all things Christmas + clearly ice castles. I also love layering collar shirts under sweaters, so I have a collared chiffon shirt with little gray polka dots under a soft off-white sweater from Forever 21. Oh, and of course my pom pom hat from Nordstrom. <3

I hope everyone is loving love this Valentine’s Day! What a wonderful reason to celebrate.

XOXO,

Alyse

Winter Weather ❄️

Umm… it snowed in Dallas today. Seriously. It looked like a snow globe. And it never snows here, so it was kind of beautiful. Also, I saw on Instagram that it snowed in Southern Utah, too! Which never happens either.

So I’ve been layering up to stay warm! I love all the cute vests and the pom pom hats and of course the poofy coats. Since I got a new camera for Christmas 🤗 I finally made a new hair tutorial. What older winter hairstyles should I try?

Ps. Don’t forget to use the special LipSense code: ALYSELIPS17 by tomorrow at noon! 💋 Here is the order form!

Hello December.

December is a magical month. In many places, white snow begins to fall. Houses and hearts are warm. People focus on giving and are therefore happy. Memories of our childhood come often. We love more. We hope more. We reflect and remember. Our hearts are full. Full of gratitude for our Savior, who was born so long ago. We visit family, where we sing together, laugh together, and pray together. The Earth dresses up with lights, bows, and wreaths to honor our King. In December, we are close to Him.

This December, my church is joining with people around the world to light the world with acts of service.

I love my friend’s (Brittany Jensen) words regarding the video below. “This Christmas season, our church is reaching out to people of the world {of any or no religion} to come together for a season of loving and giving. — To celebrate His birthday, we will #lighttheworld with goodness.  We have 25 days to take a few minutes each day and perform an act of service. These acts of service don’t have to be huge! Whether it be calling a friend/grandparent/neighbor who might need a familiar voice, buying someone’s meal, picking up trash, or giving someone a compliment… I got so excited when I found out about this movement, especially with my brother and brother in-law serving missions and how excited THEY are about it! I hope it brings us all together and reminds us that every day is an opportunity to focus on what truly matters, loving and serving others as Christ did. ❤️”

This December, I hope you’ll join with me in lighting the world in your own special way.

Hello December.

XOXO,
