Kayaking Austin

Happy Labor Day!

We went on a little kayaking adventure today for Labor Day. We went to Congress Avenue Kayaks & rented these kayaks & took them out on the river. It felt so good to be out there on a warm day, and the city looks even better from the water. Kinda wondering how Dallas got the short end of the stick in the nature department compared to Austin, but oh well. We saw little turtles swimming. ??? There was a dog park near the river, so a lot of dogs were swimming too! ?

We explored for about an hour and a half & then went to get some Texas BBQ at Salt Lick before hitting the road. I can’t wait to share more of our fun trip with y’all. Austin is a treasure in Texas.

Okay, so Nick & I are obsessed with Fixer Upper, as many of you probably are, too. It only makes sense because it’s the best show ever! If you haven’t seen it, you have to. Chip and Joanna are #CoupleGoals. Also, it’s the perfect family-friendly show,  and they create the most beautiful homes. They’ve inspired us to take on some small projects of our own. Plus, it takes place in Texas, so it makes us love this state even more.

We had a free Saturday yesterday, so we decided to roadtrip down to Waco to go see where all of this magic happens. It was just a quick drive and we were there! Magnolia Market was seriously so fun. There were food trucks, a big lawn with yard games, a garden, a bakery, a store, swings, and fun places to sit. We ate, went shopping, walked around, and had the best afternoon. We also went and found Clint’s store, his fixer-upper, and drove around Baylor University.

I so will go back, so if anyone wants to come visit me and go, I’m down!

XOXO,

Texas Hair

Here in Texas, everything is bigger… including our hair. So I had a little fun doing some big hair. I hope you like my silly tutorial, too. ??? (Apparently you can’t view it on mobile, so here’s the link!)

When I think of Texas, I think bling, boots, country music, horses, rodeo, southern hospitality & summer nights. And while it is much more than this, this is what I love about Texas.

Anyways, try out the extra hair volume & you, too, can be rodeo ready. ?????

XOXO,

Alyse
