Our honeymoon was such a dream.

I wanted a surprise (with stipulations aka somewhere tropical) for the honeymoon, so Nick planned it all and surprised me! TBH when he told me we were going to the British Virgin Islands, I had no idea that place existed, but it ended up being a dream. We mainly stayed on Tortola, at the Surf Song Resort on Beef Island. We were in paradise! The water was warm and blue, the sand was white and soft, and the weather was wonderful. We stayed in the Treehouse room, which was our own little place (pictured above) surrounded by trees and windows, so you felt like you were in the middle of the jungle, but you were actually in a comfy room.

Things we did at the British Virgin Islands-

  • Day Sail to go snorkeling.
  • Play with Dolphins.
  • Massages.
  • A day trip Virgin Gorda, where we did a fun hike along the water.
  • Swam in the ocean.
  • Explored Tortola.
  • Took our own little sailboat out.

We also watched a lot of March Madness & Spongebob… so there is that. Haha. But seriously, our honeymoon was so much fun. We had a chef that cooked each of our meals, and I looked forward to that everyday! Mostly, I just had fun not planning or caring about anything else in the world except being with my husband. I loved everything about our honeymoon.

And NOW…. we are planning a little one year anniversary trip this weekend. Any guesses where we are headed?

Stay tuned!

Summer Musts

As the weather has slowly been morphing into summer, I have begun to think about some summer musts this year. So here’s my little list complied below:

  1. SwimZip– I am of direct Finnish decent which I love, but the sun doesn’t love me. I get burned so easily. Nick can tan so easily, so I get a little jealous. And I have fried my delicate skin so much, it is time that I put my foot down. SwimZip’s special material blocks most of the UV rays, so I can look so cute, but not get burnt!
  2. Fruit of the Month– Our in-laws gave us the best gift ever- fruit of the month! We get a package once a month with the fruit of the month in it. Yesterday, we got fresh a pineapple and individually wrapped apricots. It’s something so fun (and healthy) to look forward to each month. The company we use is called Harry and David.
  3. Pastel lipstick– I look better in dark lipsticks, but it is so fun to try out new pastel summer lipsticks. My favorite light one right now is a matte lavender color. It’s actually called Zen Orchid by NYX & it’s only $5.99!
  4. Wing-tip sunnies– Totally 50’s and I love it. Also, sunglasses at Forever 21 are super cheap, so why not get a new pair or two for this summer! That’s where I got mine pictured above.
  5. Oversized pool floaties– Not pictured because I don’t have one and I’m not sure my apartment would fit one, but I want one so bad. Maybe a giant pretzel one. Or a unicorn.

Bring on summer!

Rad Swim

So I got this amazing unicorn suit from Rad Swim and it is sooo fun to wear ?. The material is a shiny lavender- kind of like what I imagine unicorn skin to be like.

So of course I had to sport this suit when Nick and I went to Manhattan Beach in LA. With summer around the corner, I’m always looking for modest suits and Rad Swim is now one of my favorite places with great prices. ?

By the way, this was the first time I had ever been to Manhattan Beach and there was the cutest ice cream shop near the beach. They had a flavor called French Macaron. It was an almond base with all different kinds of colorful macarons crushed up in it. It was SO GOOD. I’m still dreaming of that ice cream. ?

Well, if anyone has any favorite swimsuit stores that aren’t your usual cookie cutter swim suits, I am all ears!
