Joy Macarons

We have been trying to make it out to Joy Macarons forever. So when Linnea & I ended our dinner date & Joy was across the street, we knew it was meant to be.

They were so delicious & of course super photogenic. Here were the flavors we got:

  • Red – Rasberry
  • Pink – Rose and Lychee
  • Yellow – Lemon Fleur de Sel
  • Green – Pistachio
  • Blue – Almond
  • Purple – Honey and Lavender

Macarons are so yummy! I have had a few lessons from my friend in DC, but I have been wanting to try to make them on my own. If anyone has any good recipes to follow, let me know!

Why I Often Write About Menial Things

IMG_1822IMG_1773 IMG_1790 IMG_1802IMG_1827 IMG_1830

I have a lot of feelings in my heart, but have NO idea what I’m going to write about this post. So I figured, I’ll just start and see where this takes me.

First of all, I’ve been thinking about my writing on my blog. Since I launched this blog about 5 months ago, I have written/posted about menial things such as makeup, cute clothes, fun brands, new hairstyles, etc. I write about these things NOT because I have a lack of personality or lack of opinions on things going on in the world and NOT because I haven’t experienced any hardship in my life. Quite the contrary, actually.

However, I like writing about stupid, little things because stupid, little things make me happy…and hopefully you, as the reader, may find some joy and beauty in these things as well.

I definitely want to start weaving some deeper thoughts and feelings into my site to give it depth and more meaning, but I don’t want to stop posting about the little things in life. Things like finding a $5 liquid matte lipstick, perfect sunny weather, the yummiest acai bowl place that I found, pretty flowers, the donut hat I just made, my soft, new dress, etc. Yeah- I recognize those things are little and stupid, but HELLO, those things are totally fun and bring joy to me. And isn’t that why we were created? To have joy?

The more I notice these seemingly insignificant details that bring me happiness, the closer I feel to God.

And although I’m not always writing about the things that are most important to me in every post, I hope by reading along, you, too, can feel closer to Him.

If you have little things that bring you joy, please share in the comments below! I would love to hear.
