Dream big. Have you ever had a dream of something you wanted to do, but you still haven’t ever done it? I’m, unfortunately, one of the biggest offenders of that. Somethings I’ll work toward and achieve big milestones, but somethings- the things that I am the most excited about I put off for some reason.
I find myself coming up with subconscious excuses like- I don’t have time/money for that right now. (You could always say that.) I’ll start that project next year. (Next year will never come.) I don’t know how I would even get started. (Hey there’s this cool thing called Google.com) I’d have to reach out to other people. (Cool. You get to build more relationships.) Or even worse… what if no one likes what I do? (Who cares?) What if I am not good at it? (As long as you’re improving, you’ll be growing and that will make you happy!)
My mom gave me this cute little sign for Easter this year. I brought it with me to California not only because it’s pink and gold, but also because I hope it reminds me to throw all of those excuses out the window and start doing the things I’ve told myself my whole life that I’ve wanted to do! The more I think about what I haven’t done that I’ve always wanted to do, the longer the list gets… but it’s exciting!
Does anyone else have this problem? Or is it just me? What excuses do you tell yourself and how did you or how do plan to get over it?
Apparently I am all heart everything nowadays. I LOVE IT. I wanted to try a heart hairstyle before Valentine’s Day, and this one is super easy! All it requires is two elastics and to twist your hair! Bobby pins are optional. I’m currently in the process of uploading a 3 minute YouTube video, so you can see how I did it. I’ll put it on here when it is uploaded.
Also, I’ve been trying to eat more healthy than usual. (All bets are off on V-day though.) But I have been loving honey greek yogurt with raspberries for breakfast. It is SO GOOD.
I’m kind of all over the place today, but I listened to this talk this morning. It is by President Holland and it is amazing. It is great for when I am making decisions and helps me to proceed on good choices with confidence. It has helped me through some hard times in my life so I wanted to share it. Click HERE to watch!
With wedding season in full swing, I thought I’d try my hand at a little updo. I have such long, thick hair that this was a little harder than I intentionally imagined, but it was fun to do. Here are the basic steps if my graphic isn’t clear:
Put your hair in a low ponytail, but leave two sections out in the front. (You’ll braid those sections later.)
I flipped my ponytail in to give it some texture, but up to you.
I then fishtail french braided the two sections, but you could just braid them if you wanted!
I pulled the braid apart for added texture.
I put another elastic on the bottom of my ponytail, so I could control the ends and so I could roll my hair up.
I used about 1,000,000 bobby pins to secure that baby down.
I wrapped the braids around the bun and secured those down with bobby pins, as well.
The longest part was fishtail french braiding, so if you just dutch braided or braided it, you would save yourself some time, but I thought the fishtail looked cool.
