A Southwest Christmas. ❤️??

As Christmas approaches, I’ve been doing my best to gather decorations for our home. It’s so fun to have a real tree in our house, along with our new stockings, and some other fun decorations.

It’s also fun to work in a place that has the most festive Christmas decorations. There are so many red, gold, and blue decorations! ❤️??  I love it! Also, I’m so grateful that we can fly to see family so often because of my work.

Also, Nick and I drove around tonight looking at Christmas lights. There were so many horse-drawn carriages everywhere. So cute. We’ve been drinking peppermint hot cocoa & watching Christmas movies! Okay, hope everyone is in the midst of celebrations, too. ?

First Sn❄️️w

So, we experienced our first snow of the season up in Logan, Utah at grandma’s house. It was stunning! The flakes were so big. They softly fell to the ground. It looked like a snow globe outside. The immediately got us into the Christmas spirit. It clearly melted away pretty quickly that morning, but it was beautiful to behold in the moment.
Also, isn’t my black jacket gorgeous? We were looking in my Grandma’s closet and it was full of beautiful velvet jackets. I was sure to let Grandma know that velvet is very in right now. She’s always been so fashionable. ? Mia has an adorable white fur coat that we wore. In addition, I braided my hair and secured it into a headband, which was fun to wear.

Nick & I are going to New England for Christmas this year, so we are crossing our fingers for a white Christmas. We’ve been drinking peppermint hot chocolate, listening to Christmas music, and eating chocolate-covered popcorn. I think it is time we busted out some Christmas movies!

Hello December.

December is a magical month. In many places, white snow begins to fall. Houses and hearts are warm. People focus on giving and are therefore happy. Memories of our childhood come often. We love more. We hope more. We reflect and remember. Our hearts are full. Full of gratitude for our Savior, who was born so long ago. We visit family, where we sing together, laugh together, and pray together. The Earth dresses up with lights, bows, and wreaths to honor our King. In December, we are close to Him.

This December, my church is joining with people around the world to light the world with acts of service.

I love my friend’s (Brittany Jensen) words regarding the video below. “This Christmas season, our church is reaching out to people of the world {of any or no religion} to come together for a season of loving and giving. — To celebrate His birthday, we will #lighttheworld with goodness.  We have 25 days to take a few minutes each day and perform an act of service. These acts of service don’t have to be huge! Whether it be calling a friend/grandparent/neighbor who might need a familiar voice, buying someone’s meal, picking up trash, or giving someone a compliment… I got so excited when I found out about this movement, especially with my brother and brother in-law serving missions and how excited THEY are about it! I hope it brings us all together and reminds us that every day is an opportunity to focus on what truly matters, loving and serving others as Christ did. ❤️”

This December, I hope you’ll join with me in lighting the world in your own special way.

Hello December.
