Okay so my brother, Samo, flew to Dallas to visit me over the weekend alllllll by himself. He has Down syndrome and is the funniest guy on Earth- yet somehow the most loving.

Nick had to work all day Saturday, so Sam & I hit the town. He REALLY wanted a Texas shirt, so we found him one at Old Navy. Then, he went with me to Ulta to look at liquid matte lipstick. He wanted me to get black lipstick ?, so we settled in this dark purple from Revolution. It was only $5, so of course I was on board.

We partied all weekend and ate at some really good places. We also watched Holes, Scooby Doo, & Emperor’s New Groove- some of his favs. The only thing we didn’t get to do that he wanted to do was to ride a bull. ? Probably for the best.

Anyways, here is the latest braid I tried that was super quick! I started with an inverted Dutch braid and turned it into a fishtail at the end. If you like any of my hairstyles, I would love if you shared them on Pinterest. Let me know if you have hair ideas for me to try! Also, I busted out my old denim skirt that I used to wear in high school. Good times!

Nekter Juice Bar

Okay so a few posts ago, I mentioned that Nick & I have had a few lifestyle changes in attempts to try to be more healthy.

So we tried not to do anything toooo drastic or else we knew it wouldn’t last long. Buuuuut… We have done 3 main things:

  1. No sugar. ? I know. I am crying, too. But we are still eating natural sugar, like fruit, but just not desserts…or ice cream…or cookies.
  2. Cut down on bread. We aren’t eliminating bread entirely, but trying to eat less. We made tacos the other day in a lettuce wrap instead of tortillas & they were pretty yummy! Caution: Buy lettuce & not cabbage by accident. We learned that the hard way. ?
  3. Walk more! We have been counting our steps via our iPhones. Aka… On our breaks at work, we try to walk around more. We have this competition going that whoever has the most steps at the end of the day, gets to pick the Netflix. (Nick always wins somehow. I think his phone gives him more steps haha) But we sometimes go on walks or to the gym. And we don’t even dread going because we are just walking! It’s fun.

Also, we’ve been finding some yummy places to eat. Our latest fav is Nekter Juice Bar. So many yummy juices & Acai bowls. I even took my brother Samo there & he loved it!

If anyone has anymore tips of what they do to be healthy or yummy, fresh restaurants, let me know!

Rainy Friday

Okay, you caught me. I posted this on a Saturday, but I took all these photos yesterday. I woke up with a headache and was literally said out loud, “Did the weather change?” Turns out…. it did. I looked outside and it was raining, so I felt like staying in and putting on makeup and doing my hair. So I did.

I have never done a wrap around, inverted fishtail before, and it was a lot harder than I expected. I wore it to work after, and whoever told me they liked my hair I would say, “Thank you! Please don’t look at the back.” Haha.

It’s been a crazy week, but I am so excited for this weekend because my brother is here visiting. As soon as he wakes up, I am sure we’ll start our adventure-packed day! Stay tuned.
